The kingdom of Saudi Arabia witnesses a giant leap in all aspects of development. The leaders of this country and the government pays a special interest to scientific and educational sectors as they both play an important role in the development of civilized nations. Many of the Saudi’s business men had acknowledged this fact and were eager to share in the development of their country by sponsoring some of scientific chairs in different Saudi universities.
On the 17th of June, 2008 his Excellency Dr. Usama bin Sadik Taieb (Director of King Abdul Aziz University of Jeddah) launched Sheikh Ahmad Hasan Fitihi’s Chair in Prostatic Disease Researches. The chair was made possible by the generous donation of SR 3 million from Sheikh Ahmad Hasan Fitihi. The creation of the chair was announced on the 23rd of July 2008 (declaration number 7) in respond to a hearing that took place in the office of the director of the university and was attended by his Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saleh (Chairman of higher education), deans and members of the faculty.
